Boots for Service Dogs and Working Dogs

Waggle Boots FAQs

🚩 Give your service dog paw protection and added traction.

Service dogs often spend more time on slippery floors such as department stores and shopping centres. Grip Trex Boots provide reliable grip on smooth tiled floors. When slipping a service dog risks discomfort and injury to tendons in knees and elbows. Also dogs can become averse to treading on surfaces where they have previously had issues.

Grip Trex also provide protection from hot surfaces and rough terrain. The Vibram sole is super tough but also very light weight. It stands up against any nasty bindies that threaten dog's paws.

The sturdy mesh upper allows air to circulate and makes Grip Trex cooler than most. Dogs do sweat from their paws so breathability is a very important factor... especially in Australia where temperatures run so high.

The Ruffwear Boot Socks can also help to keep the skin safe and dry.

🚩 Working dogs across Australia wear Grip Trex Boots to keep their paws safe and their dogs in action.

Ruffwear Grip Trex Boots are also the sturdiest boots. That's why they are the most popular boots with working dogs on farms. These boots are built to last. Grip Trex are the boots chosen by the Australian Police and Australian Defence Canine Units for dogs on missions overseas. Grip Trex are loved world wide for their outstanding performance and endurance.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Ruffwear dog boots have changed Nippers life. He is a working dog but is old and loosing mobility in his back legs. I was having to leave him at home because he drags he feet and the concrete floor made his nails wear off and his toes bleed. At home someone would have to be with him because he’d slip over all the time not able to get grip with his back feet. His new groovy red boots have given him back grip and protection when he drags, they are a miracle cure and he is so happy to be back at work. Getting the right size was easy and Zoe was really helpful ( I had a lot of questions) , initially I thought they were expensive but when you see the work that has gone into them and how hardy they are the price is more than fair, a bargain for the happy life of a dog" - Kaspa Elston

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Use these on our working kelpie. She got used to them in about 2 minutes flat. She already realises that they stop the prickles & can work during the heat of the day when the sand is usually to hot for her to walk on." - Stephen Field

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "I love my ruffwear boots. My Samoyed wears these shoes near every day in summer and on every bushwalk year-round. As he is an assistance dog (Australian term for service dog), I need gear which is functional, visible, great quality and easy to keep clean. These boots are everything! They fit his feet perfectly, don't cause him any discomfort and are minimal to maintain. I love the Vibram soles which keeps him stable on slippery floors and protects his joints. These shoes are amazing and I would advise anyone wanting a great dog shoe to buy them." - Keltie

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Ted is my 3.5yr old Retriever/Lab X service dog and he goes everywhere with me. He's been fantastic, however there's been a few times while walking through shopping centres his front paws have slipped on the polished floors, which has made him anxious and has taken a while to settle back down again, so I've avoided going anywhere that has polished floors if I can.

We got him a couple of different types of "Dog Shoes" online, but they were really difficult to try and fit on him, and they only stayed on for around 10 seconds at best. Sure, the Ruffwear boots are certainly not cheap, but wow, what a difference? When Ted's new Ruffwear Grip Trex boots arrived I fitted his new boots and it took him just a few paces to get used to them.

After my appointment I took him for a test run where he'd previously slipped and instead of being hesitant he now just struts his stuff with full confidence.

He also comes along to help out with doing track marshalling and vehicle recovery at Off Road Racing events. One of the biggest problems we've had is the endless nasty prickles getting in his feet. We headed down to Goondiwindi for a big Off Road race, and every other year it has been terrible for the prickles, but this year, with his new boots he only had to worry about prickles in his bum. Once he worked out he didn't have to worry about the prickles in his feet, just like the shiny floors, he was bounding through the bush having a blast. I wish I got them sooner. Highly recommended!" - Cameron Sherwood

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "I got the Ruffwear Dog Boots Grip Trex as I work in security and my dog and I patrol many construction sites. I wanted to protect my dog from possible injuries due to fine wire becoming embedded in the pads of his feet or his feet getting cut on broken glass. So far so good. No injuries or down time for my partner and he hasn't lost any boots yet. We do use the bootie liners." - Iolen Michelle Turner
