If youāre considering buying it, itās important to understand the sizing. As a loose lead it sits at 1.0 metre, which is perfect for keeping your dog right beside you while running. When under full tension it stretches out to 1.8 metres, but even then itās still on the shorter side compared to many other running leads.
For me, thatās a huge positive. It keeps my dog exactly where I want him on both runs and walks ā close, controlled, and predictable. Thereās no drifting out in front or pulling off to the side. It creates a really stable running rhythm, which makes a big difference once you settle into pace.
However, if your dog naturally runs out in front while on lead, this probably isnāt the right option. At full extension your dog would still be quite close, and thereās a real chance youād end up stepping on their back legs ā which could injure both you and your dog. This system clearly suits dogs trained to run beside you rather than ahead.
Paired with the Trail Runner Running Belt, itās a genuinely excellent setup. The two products work seamlessly together and feel purpose-built rather than improvised. Overall, a fantastic system for anyone who wants their dog running properly at heel.
