Wind and water resistant, the Ruff Wear K-9 Overcoat Utility Jacket reduces the loss of core body heat protecting dogs from wind, rain, snow, brush and burrs. The integrated chest panel with adjustable side release buckles allows a custom fit that remains securely in place no matter what your dog's activity.

The recycled fleece insulating layer is enclosed in a durable recycled polyester shell, keeping the dog's body heat in, and the elements out. The auto-lock buckles on each side provide fast and easy on/off.

We've found this dog coat to be everything advertised. The combination of a fleecy warm lining and a polyester shell provides excellent functionality. And the burrs don't stick to the outside which makes upkeep much easier. It can be thrown right in the washing machine when it needs freshening.

Coat Fitting Your Dog

Dog coats are designed to keep your dog's core area warm, so it's important that you get the right girth measurement.  Too large and it won't keep your dog warm, too small and it will be uncomfortable. As all breeds are different shapes, don't worry if the coat doesn't go all the way to the base of the tail.  It is not necessary to keep your dog warm.

Pippin's K-9 Overcoat arrived this morning - pretty good for rural roadside delivery out in the boondocks (it can take 3 days for mail to travel 27 kms from Devonport, pop 20,000!). To fit the coat snuggly I have to tighten the straps completely for skinny, athletic dog; but we certainly couldn't go down to the next small size, as the coat would be like a horse saddle blanket on him then! He wasn't too keen for a test drive this morning - temp is working towards mid 20s already and very humid. It's the best of all the coats I've tried that will give him warmth AND allow the freedom of movement he gets from the 'windcheaters' I make for him. I am very confident that once the frosts start he'll be more than happy to be strapped in for early morning 'hunt the sniffs' gallops around the garden and paddocks. The coat is very well made and well designed; the light loop will be very useful in the winter. At the moment, I tape a small bike flicker-light to dog safety harnesses so I can keep track of dogs in the dark in the paddocks when I'm feeding stock. Being able to toss the coat through the machine is also a big bonus . Pippin might look like a 'girly' little poodle - but he doesn't know that, and will often return to the house well coated in mud and 'stuff' after tearing around chasing rabbits. Thanks for your help and prompt service; I'll definitely keep you in mind for other doggy needs.

Thanks so much for getting this coat to us and our beautiful old Staffy Brim, so quickly. Great service! Much appreciated by us and by Brim most of all, who is very warm and snuggly - the coat fits her perfectly!! (and she is highly visible at night which is great as she is black!!). She is 14 this year, the vet calls her "Superwoman" as she has survived snake bites and corn on the cob being stuck in her intestine from our compost!
