Review this product
Ruff Wear has revolutionized canine paw wear. Bark'n Boots Grip Trex feature two major advancements in dog boots: an upper inspired by human shoes and a high performance Vibram sole.
Worn by Australian Police Dogs, Australian Army Canine Units, all the Guide Dogs in NSW, and working dogs across the world, these dog boots are practical no nonsense footwear for active dogs and working dogs alike. At Waggle we've been carrying Ruff Wear Grip Trex Bark'n Boots for almost four years now and they have been one of our most popular products due to their innovative design and durability.
Built on an anatomical mold, just like human shoes, the boot's upper maintains a consistent size, shape, and fit. The revolutionary upper design and construction ensures the boots are easy to put on, easy to secure, provide continued comfort, and most importantly, the boots stay on paws-from the first mile to the last.
For the revolutionary sole, Ruff Wear partnered with Vibram the world's leading developer of soles for active pursuits. The partnership produced the unique Grip Trex design with omnidirectional treads and traction zones customized to the demanding needs of active dogs.
The sole generates unequaled grip, traction, durability, and performance. Together, these two advancements produce a completely revolutionary dog boot from top to bottom. Put Ruff Wear's Bark'n Boots Grip Trex on your dog and unleash the canine athlete inside, then do your best to keep up with your four-legged friend and enjoy the fun.

Getting the right fit is really important.
To ensure a proper fit (and to ensure the boots stay on) it is important to measure your dog's paws. Don't assume paw size is based on your dog's overall size...make sure to measure using our easy directions below.
Measuring Paw Width
1) Have your dog stand on a firm surface (wood, linoleum, or concrete).
2) Place a piece of blank paper under a front paw.
3) Lift the dog's other front paw so that its weight is placed firmly on the paw being measured.
4) Mark the paper at the paw's widest point on the left and right edges of the paw (see graphic on size chart).
5) Use a ruler to measure the distance from the left mark to the right mark on the paper.
6) Use the Size Chart tab to determine the proper size. For example: if the width is measured between 57-64 mm, the dog would wear a small boot; between 70-76 mm, a large.
| Size | Paw Width |
|---|---|
| XX-Small | 2.0" / 51 mm |
| X-Small | 2.25" / 57 mm |
| Small | 2.5" / 64 mm |
| Medium | 2.75" / 70 mm |
| Large | 3.0" / 76 mm |
| X-Large | 3.25" / 83 mm |
Sizing Instructions

Important: A snug fit is necessary to keep boots securely on paw.
Measuring Paw Width
Have your dog stand on a hard surface. Place a piece of blank paper under paw. Lift the opposing paw so that dog's weight is distributed firmly on the paw being measured. (We suggest measuring both front and back paws.) Mark the paper at the paw's widest point on the left and right edges of the paw (see graphic). Use a ruler to measure the distance from the left mark to the right mark. Use the chart to determine the proper boot size. If your dog measures smaller than 2.0", please check out our Skyliner Boots which are available in a smaller size.
For in between sizes, choose the next size up for comfort and performance.

Wow! Just put the hind boots on my 15 year old Lab Buddy. He has been wearing them for the last half hour and I am amazed at the difference already. Having a little trouble getting the front ones on , might have to wait till the socks arrive next week as he is a little touchy about his front feet, but the hind ones have done what I was hoping and given him his independence back. He has weak hind legs and has trouble getting himself up especially on any slipplery surface. He knows already what he can now do and I think he loves them to. Would recomend to everyone and am now considering a set for my other Lab who has allergies and chews at her feet constantly. Thankyou and your service is excellent.
We bought the Ruff Wear boots because my dog had chronic dermatitis in her paws and we had been unable to stop her chewing her feet. The boots have been an enormous help, relieving the pain in her feet and also restricting her persistent chewing. We have since had her allergy tested only to find that she is allergic to insects. She will be wearing these boots for a long time to come. I have to say that on browsing the net there are no other boots that come close to the quality and durability of these. She also finds them really comfy and adjusted to wearing them well. Even though they are more expensive, the quality surpasses any other boots we've seen. Everywhere we go she is the centre of attention in her red boots. People have photographed her persistently wherever we go.
I wanted you to know that the Ruffwear Bark n Boots Grip Trex Dog Boots fit perfectly and Ella loves them as she can run inside and out without slipping on our wooden floors and without getting cold feet on our often icy deck. For the first day or so the back shoes twisted around constantly but now they stay put, she actually held out her hind leg this morning so that I could fit her shoe (she's never done this with other shoes). Ella wears her new shoes all day and they must be very comfortable as she doesn't lick or chew them. She seems to have much more confidence when wearing your shoes in fact she literally runs around the house.
The shoes are great! Our dog has three weight-bearing toes missing on his right front paw. He usually limps when he walks. We tried the new shoes tonight - the limp is gone and our dog loves his new shoes!
Paris recently had a stroke and lost feeling from the waist down. However with physio, regular exercise and swimming she has regained almost 100% use of al legs. Her right leg is a little behind so I use the waggle doggie bootie on her right back leg so she does not drag her foot. She lifts it beautifully on her walks and can now run till her hearts content. Thank you so much!!! These shoes are much better than a regular doggie beauty they are the best and last forever. Paris's dreams are almost complete as she nears a full recovery!
Just got the gorgeous boots for our boy Seamus. All I can say is that they are a smash hit. Seamus just loves the kong, sadly over the last few years we have had some claw strippings, OUCH!!. Because he is an olympic kong athlete, there was no way in the world that life would be at all enjoyable without "kong - time". But now that he has his boots - let the games begin!!!!!!!!!nJust wanted to let you know that you have made our gorgeous goldie - Seamus very, very happy!!!!! Great service too. Many Thanks.
I have received the Waggle shoes, and aren't they fabulous!!! Many thanks.
I received Harrigan's dog boots yesterday and already he is quite happy walking around in them and they stay on perfectly. Our next trip to outback Australia will be much more comfortable for Harri. No more burrs for him.
The boots and socks are fantastic and Mysti loves them. When I first put them on during our trip to the Belanglo State Forest this week, Mysti ran through the long grass and they flew off in all directions - once I worked out the tightness, without cutting off her circulation they stayed put on our 2 hour hike. The velcro is excellent. Mysti's feet did not sweat and smell and they did not annoy her dew claw as did the cheaper boots.
